The Mission of the Discipleship ministry is to help believers grow in their faith by sharing the truth of God’s Word.

In a community of faith, our congregation strives to become better disciples of Jesus Christ through spiritual growth, studying the Bible together, and passing on the faith to the next generation. The WPC Discipleship Ministry is committed to growing believers’ relationship with Jesus Christ, in learning more about Christian faith, and infusing daily lives with the grace of God in Christ Jesus for all.

Because of Christ’s commission of discipleship (Matthew 28:19), the WPC Discipleship Ministry is committed to discipling the body of Christ in three main areas:

  • Knowledge of the character and works of God
  • Equipment in the service of the body and world
  • Development of a biblical world and life view

Discipleship nurtures believers to boldly journey toward greater love and understanding of Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior so that they will disciple others.

Adult Sunday School

Adult Sunday School

God’s word grows God’s people. It renews minds and transforms lives for the glory of God. In the Adult Sunday School class, we focus on the Bible to provide opportunities for Christian faith by understanding God’s Word and its implications for all of life.

Through our Sunday School ministry, we hope to accomplish several goals:

    1. Disciples devoted to the Lord and a personal relationship with Him through saving faith in Jesus Christ.

    1. Disciples who love to fellowship with one another by studying Scripture together (Acts 2:42).

    1. Disciples committed to knowing and understanding the Bible for personal growth and godliness (1 Timothy 4:7).

  1. Disciples equipped through biblical instruction for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ (Ephesians 4:11-16).

Sunday school starts at 9:45 am in the WPC Library.

Wimberley Presbyterian Women

Presbyterian Women is an independent organization of more than 300,000 women within the Presbyterian Church (USA). The programming and resource options for the organization offer a variety of ways for women to live out their faith in an inclusive, caring community.

    • to nurture our faith through prayer and Bible study,

    • to support the mission of the church worldwide,

    • to work for justice and peace,

    • and to build an inclusive, caring community of women that strengthens the Presbyterian Church (USA) and witnesses to the promise of God’s kingdom.

Prayer Group

Prayer Group

You are invited to join the Prayer Group as we bring our concerns before God. The Prayer Group is one of the many ways WPC can express our care for one another, and we welcome your participation. If you can’t be with us in person, we encourage you to remember the congregation in your prayers.

The Prayer Group meets every Wednesday at 7:00 pm via Zoom meeting.

You also can submit prayer requests for yourself or others. At the church, prayer request cards are available in the pews to share the names of those who are sick or in need of intercessory prayer; once completed, you may place cards in the offering plate or send them to the church office. You also may submit prayer requests online here.

Children’s Sunday School

Children’s Sunday School

Jesus said, “Let the children come to me; for to such belongs the kingdom of heaven” (Mark 10:14).

WPC believes it’s essential to empower families to grow deep roots in the faith together and with their church family. Our children’s ministry focuses on bringing the stories of our faith to life through Bible study, mission opportunities and inter-generational experiences.

There are currently no Sunday School classes for children under the age of 5th grade.

Vacation Bible Study

Our mission is to support the Church in fulfilling Christ’s call to evangelize and disciple children and their families. Our commitment is to create high caliber, spiritually engaging, Christ-centered Vacation Bible School curricula whose profound, grace-filled content and Christian world and life view are presented through fun-filled challenge and adventure. Our materials reflect our conviction that the Bible is God’s Word, completely true and trustworthy.

Each year WPC VBS focuses on one day of creation. Through scripture, crafts, music, recreation, engaged learning, and skill learning children wrap their arms around God’s perfect creation.

VBS is held the third week of July, Monday-Thursday 9:00 am to noon.

Youth Sunday School and Wednesday Night Bible Study

WPC offers a variety of opportunities for 6th grade through High School Seniors to strengthen their relationship with God.

A new way of looking at the Bible. Instead of going book by book, we discuss the themes and ideas running through the entire Bible using a mix of short videos and discussion questions.

We walk through each literary style found in the Bible, and how each uniquely contributes to the overall whole. Each literary style lives by its own rules and structure. Our goal is to understand the the origins, content, and purpose of the Bible.

Confirmation class helps youth understand what it means to know Christ and be responsible church members. Our youth typically take this class sometime between 6th – 9th grade.  Confirmation classes are taught by the pastor.

Youth Sunday school meets at 9:45 am in the youth room.
